My name is Sarah Turnie and this is Voices for Justice.

In the last episode of Voices for Justice, we discussed my father's bomb trial with

an emphasis on the coverage the Phoenix Police Department felt most applicable to Alyssa's

case, specifically regarding my father's high propensity for violence and future violence.

In this episode, we're stepping outside of the timeline of the case to hear from a

very special guest, Alyssa's biological father, Stephen Strong.

As I mentioned in the very beginning of this podcast, there may be one-off episodes

as people come forward to talk, and that's exactly what happened.

You might remember that when I referenced Alyssa's biological father, I kept it quite

brief, and that was on purpose.

The truth is, growing up, I heard a lot of terrible stories about Steve.

I was told that he abused my mother, my brother John, and Alyssa.

Some people even say that my mother met my father when she was attempting to escape Steve's

abuse in a park.

And since Steve was never a part of Alyssa's life, I felt that he was mostly irrelevant

to the story.
