So what exercise did you do?

The first and probably the most useful exercise is to try saying T and D together in quick succession. So if you say to-da-to-da-to-da-to-da-to-da-to-da.

It's like a slowed-down version of T plus the rolled r for example in a word like

three so you can practice doing it faster and faster until it eventually becomes a roll
