And I'm Greg Cut. I write about rock and roll for the Chicago Tribune.

Tonight, on the world's only rock and roll talk show, we are going to renew a longstanding tradition at sound opinions,

which is to get out the

shovel and dig out those buried treasures records that may have slipped

under the radar screen of the mainstream but did not miss our attention here at

sound opinions records that you need to

know about even though they weren't widely heralded when they first came out.

Absolutely one of our favorite kinds of shows here. Do it a couple times a year.

Some people Greg would say we have the shovel out and we're shoveling it every week.

Right now though, we are down actually in Texas, Austin, Texas, covering the South

by Southwest Music Festival.

We're going to have a big report on that in a couple of weeks.

But these are bands that you're going to hear more about at some point.

They're bubbling under, they're underground right now, hence the term buried treasures.

We're digging them up.

We love this kind of show.
