I was living with a friend at the time and was on route back to my apartment from a night with my family.

I was in kind of a foul mood and was out of cigarettes, so I stopped at a gas station on my way

back home. The gas station was dingy. I mean, it was just absolutely run down. The sad thing is that

it was built that way. It was built to be barely functional.

The lights outside didn't always work, and the place always had a smell of burnt rubber.

It was kind of sketchy during the day, but at 10 at night, it had a whole different vibe.

But I was in serious need of cigarettes, so I stopped.

I got out of my car, went inside, grabbed a bottle of Gatorade, and made my way to the counter,

only to notice that nobody was at the register. I had stopped by this gas station before and had

the same thing happened, so I figured whoever

was working was either in the bathroom or at their house. All the employees who worked there

were related, and they all lived on the premises. So I hung around for a few minutes, and soon enough,

the door to the restroom flew open and outlumbered a rather angry-looking

female. She rang me up for my Gatorade and gave me attitude when I said I wanted cigarettes.

I didn't understand this, especially since this place rarely had any business.

Anyway, I was in the store for a total of five minutes, and then I was on my way.
