Alexia to come on and talk about a research. Alexei, do you want to introduce yourself?

Yes. I am finishing my doctorate right now at Cornell in political theory.

And I am completing a dissertation that looks at the end of the decolonial era

and the beginning of what is usually known as the post-colonial period.

And really trying to understand and shed light, I think, a little bit on some of the political

inertia that has taken hold around the world, but particularly in the US that we've been trying

to figure out for quite a long time.

And basically kind of going back to some third world thinkers to think about how they were thinking

about the political inertia that I think a lot of the West faces today when it comes to leftist

politics. And, you know, why it's the case that a lot of leftist

political struggles may feel stuck or frozen or unable to make their claims heard and legible,

not only in the U.S., but internationally today.

So in layman's terms, why are we still also bombed?

What's the, what's the, what's the, I quote the Zeyets thing all the goddamn time, but it's

like the best lack all conviction, though worst or full of passionate intensity.

Yes.

And that kind of feels like our political moment.

Yeah.

Whereas just like we don't know what to fucking do.

More or less, I think, yeah.

And I think that, you know, when we think about obviously the election of Trump, the first round, the re-election of Trump, there was obviously this crisis.
