On this Monday episode of Nothing Major, John Isner, Sam Querrey and Steve Johnson recap the first week in Miami, including Sebastian Korda’s three-set win over world No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and what it means for Alcaraz’s Sunshine Double swing and Jannik Sinner’s chances of the title!

They discuss Ben Shelton’s early loss, Alexander Zverev’s dominant serving performance and lefty record, and key Round of 16 matchups featuring Fritz, Tommy Paul, and Korda, plus notable upsets in the men’s draw. On the WTA side, they ask the question as to who can challenge Sabalenka & Rybakina?

They also react to Joao Fonseca’s comments comparing Alcaraz and Sinner, the Danielle Collins–Corentin Moutet social media dust-up, and close with a recap of their locked in picks!

Welcome back to Nothing Major. It's a three-man pod today, myself, Sam Quarry, well, kind of two and a half.

0:18.2

And Steve Johnson, he's on daddy duty right now.

0:21.5

And his three girls are still sleeping. They might be getting up soon. So, Cal Ripkin, our Ironman, might be. The street lives. The street does live. You just got to play one inning. Yeah. Look, I'm playing one inning, one pitch. Get me out. Yep. So he's got the baby monitor beside him. And then when that thing starts lighting up, he's got to go.

0:40.2

It's over.

0:41.0

We know you love... So he's got the baby monitor beside him. And then when that thing starts lighting up, he's got to go.

Let's get this show started with the first week of Miami. And obviously we got to start with the big news from just yesterday. Hold on. Can I do, can I get, I have one rant. It's not a rant. Please go do a rant. But I want Stevie to be part of it. Well, he's here. Please do the week for this. You forgot. It's not a rant. I don't know what this rant is about, by the way. Yeah, it's not really a rant.

1:11.4

I just like, do you guys see everyone take a picture with John Bon Jovi at the Miami tournament?

1:15.5

Yeah, I didn't see that. And actually, like, Bon Jovi was on the ground. It's like, 40% of the tournament players, like, took a picture with John Bon Jovi and put it online. It bothered me for some reason.

1:24.8

I feel like they don't know the songs.

1:26.1

He's got a look, though.

1:30.8

He's got a look. You just look at me like he's a rock star. He's a rock star. Do the players know his body of work? No way. Is it the players? Was it all the players say? It's players. It's support staff. It's everyone. But this is what I really want to talk about. So I forgot to bring us up last week. 10 days ago, Stevie and I were both at Lakeita during the tournament. Indian Wells, we were at Lakeita the resort. And in the morning, Stevie and I were there together and Steve was like, hey, see that guy over there? I think that's the guy the guy that beat jack sock and del ray remember the guy that was like a part-time like yeah matthew pukotich yes and uh so fast forward like an hour later i'm on the court with him i'm like hey you're the guy that beat jack and del ray right and you're like a part-time player he's, yeah, I'm the guy. Oh, thank God. He's pretty good, right?

2:50.9

Very, by the way, we embellished that story. He's really good. He's really good. He's really good. Yeah. Anyway, just like, he's like, yeah. And he just right after that, me, he looks right at me and goes, I'll play you three out of five sets whenever you want for a hundred grand right now. Like right now. He lives like 45 minutes from me. He said it's so confidently that it's kind of thrown me off. Like I don't know how good he is. We were in this clinic thing together. He's obviously pretty good, but I'm still good. He works. He's like an analyst for like J.P. Morgan.
