Summary
Join Margi and John for our next episode of Thrive Stories this coming Tuesday at noon (MST). Come listen and participate in the conversation as we talk to Dre Robinson, cofounder of BeautyLab. Dre will talk a bit about her life growing up as a smart, assertive, and driven woman existing in a structure and culture that had a very limiting beliefs about women and their roles in the home, life, and the world. As things began to fall apart, Dre came into her own and began embracing and redefining herself in ways that have allowed her to show up in her relationships and in life in an integrated and honoring way. .Join us in a conversation about gender roles and the limiting structure of the gender binary! Thrive Stories is a new podcast series where Margi (alongside John or Jenn) will be interviewing a member of the community twice per month. The interviews will be shorter (1-2 hours), story-based, but will be focused on a particular aspect of healing and growth AFTER a Mormon faith crisis (thus the THRIVE name). They will happen on Tuesdays at noon (MST). Some examples of areas of thriving include: Family Relationships, Healthy Boundaries, Finding Community, Finding Meaning/Purpose, Dealing with Grief/Death, Religion after Mormonism, Health Sexuality, Parenting, Improving Physical Health, Identity, Health Marriage/Relationships, Secular Spirituality, Word of Wisdom 2.0, and Women Finding Their Own Voice after Mormonism.
If you would like to nominate someone you know who would be a great candidate for a THRIVE interview, please nominate them (or yourself) here.

| 0:05.6 | So grateful to have you here. So grab a cup of coffee if you're listening, head out for that walk, |
| 0:11.4 | and just kind of get ready for another story of thriving. |
| 0:16.2 | So before we get started, we'll kick it over to my co-host over there, John Delin. How you doing today, fella? |
| 0:23.0 | Good. Hey, Margie. |
| 0:24.6 | I'm excited to be here and welcome to MarmStories podcast as well. And we're just so thrilled that you're willing to come and host some of these episodes, |
| 0:34.5 | focused more on the reconstruction, healing, and growth aspects of faith transition versus kind of the deconstruction part. |
| 0:43.2 | We're so thrilled to have you. I love you, and I'm always thrilled to be here. |
| 0:47.2 | Thank you. I know. I'm a total newbie, but happy to be here. Maybe I'll give a short intro again to Thrive Stories and the idea behind Thrive Stories in case you're new. |
| 0:58.0 | So the idea of Thrive Stories is a shorter interview. They tend to be around two hours or so. |
| 1:04.0 | And basically, it's an area of thriving. So post-faith transition, we do interviews around an area of particular thriving, and we tell that story. |
| 1:15.2 | And I love it for so many reasons, but one of the reasons I love it is because I feel like it kind of pokes a hole in something that we have been taught oftentimes in condition to believe, which is, you know, if you kind of leave organized religion, that on some level your life is never the same, which it isn't the same, but in a negative way, right? |
| 1:37.8 | That it's that on some level, you kind of suffer for the rest of your life, which I don't see to be true. That's not what I witness. So this interview series is kind of exploring what life after a faith transition looks like in a particular area. |
| 1:54.4 | So you can nominate yourself. You can nominate someone you know if you're interested in participating. |
| 2:00.4 | You can pick an area, some sample areas could be finding your own voice. It can be a healthy marriage. It can be finding spirituality. Again, it can be what else, John? |
| 2:15.4 | We've done mental health. We've done sexuality, physical health, just any main domain of healing and growth that we that you think would be useful to a lot of other people. |
| 2:27.4 | We'd love to hear your story. Yeah, anything that's kind of common to the experience, I would say, but I'm really excited for today's episode. I'm really excited for this interview and just feel so grateful. So without further ado, we want to welcome Drey Nord here today. Thank you for being here. |
| 2:47.4 | I'm Drey Robinson now. That was Drey Nord. I've been so many Drey's and now I'm Drey Robinson back to the original. That's perfect. Yeah. Thank you. We're so grateful that you are here. Welcome. Welcome. Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited to be here. Feels good to be back. Yes. |
| 3:06.4 | We're mentioning that we had Drey along with Heather Gay on Warm Source Podcast a year to ago. I called them Gay and Drey and Heather Gay obviously has been on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Drey has also appeared on that show. |
| 3:22.4 | Not as one of the featured I guess guests, but as a bestie to Heather, but also as a partner business partner with Heather. So we'll include in the show notes a reference to that amazing series that really helped a lot of people. So Drey, it's so great to have you back. |
| 3:39.4 | Yes. Thank you. It's good to be back. Yeah. So let's just begin kind of with selected area. What area did you want to kind of explore today as part of the interview? |
| 3:53.4 | Okay. So when you reach out to me about this opportunity, I mean, I think immediately I was like, I totally know what I want to talk about. And I want to talk about generals and being a woman, you know, specifically a Mormon woman that is no longer Mormon. And what that's like for us. |
