Summary

A farmer and his friend are shot dead on the farmer's property. Suspicion falls on his newly hired farmhand, who is arrested along with his brother in law. They're convicted on ballistics evidence which showed that the bullets could only have been fired from the suspect's gun. However, later a new suspect emerges causing the case to be revisited. On further inspection, the bullets weren't properly inspected at all, leading to the invention of a new tool.
