Summary

Tom and started out fall break with a bang. And by bang, I mean a 3 mile cold, rainy trail ride with two horses named Iowa and Louisiana in the Smoky Mountains.   It felt right and epic and by the time we finished, I was soaked to the core and shivering. Not exactly what the doctor ordered for me, given my complicated sinus infection that won't seem to totally go away. But we mamas do what we need to do.   I got surfer's sinusitis this summer from wake surfing.😳   Yes, it's a thing. I'm not totally mad about it, but I do plan on buying nose and ear plugs for next summer.   I'm learning a lot about what it means to slow down a little. To prioritize health (cancelled about 4 trips since riding on an airplane doesn't sound too fun right now) and to do things ON PURPOSE that fill my cup, bring me joy, and use my gifts in the best way.   That looks like lots of visits with the grand babies, lots of rock hikes with Tom, creating content that serves my clients, knitting, and making good food that screams fall.   Most of the time what we need a "break" from is not the physical activities of our lives, but the incessant noise in our heads.   The constant doubting and questioning of ourselves, the low level anxiety about everything, the lies we believe about who we are and what we were created to do, the secret resentments, the comparison to others, and a whole host of negative thinking that won't seem to leave us alone.   We were not meant to carry all that in our hearts and minds.   And those things aren't cured by fall break or a trip to the spa or a vacation to the Caribbean.   Those things are cured when we learn to renew our minds to the high calling and purpose we've been given so that the rest of the mess has less space to take up in our brains.   When we learn how to make our mental and emotional health a priority, we can enjoy the truest freedom, no matter what life brings our way.   It's work worth doing. And with the right mindset, it can be fun.   Here's to making memories and adventures and using our mind and heart space to focus on the life we want, not the worry and anxiety we don't.   Decide to find every reason to be joyful and loving to them today.   DECIDE to be delighted by the simplest things they say and do.   Your mind is powerful. Use it with intention to create the most amazing day and then watch how all that goodness spills over into the people you love.   Everything you could ever ask for is right in front of you.   Will you train your mind to notice?     The issues above and more are what we're tackling in the last 75 days of the year in LIFE MENTORING SCHOOL.   If you're ready to live from your highest self and ditch the negative patterns you've been stuck in, give yourself the gift of TRUE REST and TRUE GROWTH.   Join us here! http://ediewadsworthcoaching.com/enroll Learn more about your ad choices.
