So yeah, this is definitely not your history class.

Not at all. One, there's too much swearing and two, I get so many messages in comments, stuff

along the lines of if this was how history was taught or if you were my teacher or if you taught

history, I would be interested, I would have learned something,

I would have done better in my exams, so on and so forth.

Now granted, enthusiasm does count for a lot.

Like, if you have enthusiasm and knowledge,

like if you understand the subject and you're excited to talk about it, yeah.

People are going to engage.

There's going to be better interaction with that

and people are going to learn better There's going to be better interaction with that and people are going to learn better.

And if you do get a really good teacher, like I had my leaving set, my leaving set exams, my history teacher,

Jerry, shout out to Jerry, really, really instilled that love of history for me.

And yeah, oh my goodness, like, here's the thing.

Here's, like, shout out to Jerry.

Anyone who knows me in real life who is actually listening to this podcast and who knows Jerry, yeah, I don't think he'd care that I've given him a shout out on it.

I was like, hey, Jared, Jerry, I know that you are retired now and do a bunch of fancy, you know, history stuff with a bunch of colleges and uni's in the country, but, uh, yeah, that girl he used to teach about 20 years ago for the leaving cell. Yeah, yeah, she gave you a shout out on a history podcast, by the way. I don't think he'd give a shit.

But no, um, Jerry was amazing.

And, um, when it comes to education, listen,

skills and colleges and whatnot, they have a syllabus.
