Have you ever considered that some of the herbs that you're already growing could be useful to you to use for health and for even medicinal remedies?

0:10.8

I'll be honest with you. When I started diving into this subject, I was partly overwhelmed and partly so excited I couldn't wait to try it all.

0:23.7

You can imagine my family still makes a lot of fun of me because I'm constantly trying new herbal remedies. It's just a job hazard, right?

0:30.2

I started this journey two years ago and I spoke about it on the podcast last year. I talked about

0:36.2

how fall is a really good time to dive into medicinal

0:39.6

herb gardening. But this year, more than ever, I think so many of us are looking toward the plants

0:45.3

that we're already growing to help our health as more than just a hobby, but being prepared

0:50.9

and being ready to be able to treat what we can at home. But where do we start?

1:19.4

bringing her knowledge at a level that I could understand. In this conversation is no different.

1:26.1

We're going to dive into the very basics, how you can

1:28.9

use some of the herbs that you're already growing, and also give you a few ideas that you might

1:33.7

want to add to your garden if you're not already growing some of these. Please keep in mind as

1:38.9

you're listening to this, that this is for entertainment purposes only. Neither Carolyn nor I are medical professionals.

1:45.6

And as she mentions at the end, before you add any kind of herbal regimen to your health care

1:50.9

or anything like that, please make sure and do your research and even check with your local

1:55.5

health provider, especially if you have preexisting conditions. Most herbs are completely safe, but there are some interactions that you might want to be careful about, especially if you have pre-existing conditions. Most herbs are completely safe,

2:01.3

but there are some interactions that you might want to be careful about,

2:04.5

especially if you're taking medication.
