So the idea of no ethical consumption under capitalism has its origin in the 90s and the

practice of ethical consumerism.

The ethical consumer acknowledges that capitalism is exploitative, but that that exploitation

Some companies offer better pay, are less environmentally destructive, and so on.

So a $1 chocolate bar made from cocoa harvested by slave wage child laborers is less ethical
