Summary

Join Margi, John, and Carah for our next episode of Thrive Stories this coming Tuesday at noon (MST). Come listen and participate in the conversation as we discuss sexuality, body confidence, and owning our own stories from this minute forward. Faith has found deeper meaning and exhilaration in celebrating sexuality and body autonomy in her life after Mormonism.

Thrive Stories is a new podcast series where Margi (alongside John and Carah) will be interviewing a member of the community twice per month.Β  The interviews will be shorter (1-2 hours), story-based, but will be focused on a particular aspect of healing and growth AFTER a Mormon faith crisis (thus the THRIVE name).Β  They will happen on Tuesdays at noon (MST). Some examples of areas of thriving include:Β  Family Relationships, Healthy Boundaries, Finding Community, Finding Meaning/Purpose, Dealing with Grief/Death, Religion after Mormonism, Health Sexuality, Parenting, Improving Physical Health, Identity, Health Marriage/Relationships, Secular Spirituality, Word of Wisdom 2.0, and Women Finding Their Own Voice after Mormonism.

If you would like to nominate someone you know who would be a great candidate for a THRIVE interview, please nominate them (or yourself) here.

0:12.0

Welcome. How are you doing? Good. Good to see you. I love being your hands as

0:19.2

you take the lead. It makes me super happy. Are you working comments and sound

0:24.3

today? Yeah, I'm actually doing the sound mixer and the video mixer just

0:29.0

because the cables won't reach. So Cara, we put you in outer darkness. I know. It's

0:36.1

Cara. I would have worn more makeup if I knew I was going to be out of lighting. So I made

0:40.4

up with it showing more skin, I guess. Welcome to you both. So glad you're here.

0:46.0

Do we need to give a viewer warning about making comments about women's

0:49.2

appearance? I did it last night and I told them where they can put it. We're good.

0:52.2

Okay. Hopefully it carries over. Yeah. So viewers and listeners, no comments

0:57.8

about people's bodies maybe. Is that all right? Yeah. I think you guys can handle it.

1:02.8

This is going to be a very sexual episode anyway. So you're going to have to handle

1:07.6

a lot more than just Cara's shoulders right now. It's great. Well, before we dive in

1:13.3

for today's guest, do you want to kind of give us a short summary, John, on thrive

1:17.8

stories and kind of the idea behind the project, if you don't mind? Yeah. Yeah. So Mormon

1:23.1

stories has a long tradition of doing long form faith crisis stories that last

1:27.4

between three and 12 hours. And we also sometimes cover special topics, truth claims,

1:33.8

kind of stuff. But what we also wanted to do was really focus on the healing and growth

1:38.8

and not have everything have to always be about deconstruction. So Margie is ramped down her

1:44.6

coaching business and ramped up twice a month. She is going to be doing these these thrive

1:49.4

stories where there's going to be less of an emphasis on deconstruction. And instead, one
