So what's our topic today, Tracy?

Today, our topic is Work Quake.

That's right. We were going to title it Business Frogs and Work Quakes.

We thought that was a little too strange, but now we've said it, so we've got it out there.

So here's the idea. The frogs come in because I think about being a frog in a pot of boiling water,

how when things are changing, we don't really notice it because the temperature seems to be

changing just a little at a time. And sometimes we don't even realize what's going on around us.

And just recently I was talking to some folks and I thought about it and I thought,

I wonder if we're experienced a tectonic shift in the world of work right now that we might not

be aware of because it's happened somewhat incrementally. And that's what we're going to talk

about today. And that tectonic shift is about, is work trending toward being non-relational?

And are we getting used to that? And are we going to look back 10 years from now?

20 years from now and say, wow, the entire nature of the world of work really

changed. 20 years ago I wrote a book called The Five Disfunctions of a Team, which was all about

relationship at work. And today more and more we're finding people having jobs where they don't

really even know their co-workers. And that trend I thought would be have declined by now.

And it seems to be continuing. And that's what we're going to talk about today.
