There's a group of words you'll use in nearly every sentence in Italian, but they create

problems for learners at all levels.

I have to admit that I still struggle with them sometimes as they're really quite fiddly.

Il, lo, la, i, y, y, le, those small words are called articles, and basically they're all just different ways to say the in Italian.
