Hello everybody. Welcome to another episode of Luke's English podcast.

It's my great pleasure to be able to speak to you now by talking like this into a microphone

and then to have my voice sent all over the world on the internet and then

for it to be downloaded by good people like you who use Luke's English

podcast as a way to improve your English and also hopefully to just

enjoy the experience of listening to some real natural British English. Now

what's this episode all about? This one is basically about some British comedy.

I often get messages from people asking me to recommend things, you know, like recommend particularly to recommend

British stuff like TV shows or comedy or stand-up comedians. Some of the most common requests that I get are from people who want me

to introduce them to my favorite British comedy shows. And I often think about this and I'd been thinking about just

doing an episode all about British comedy in which I kind of explain some of the great

kind of comedy shows or comedians that we've had over the years and then

recommend some stuff for you but I just thought there's so much there's actually so much

for me to recommend that it would be difficult to do it all justice,

you know? I couldn't just fit it all into one episode because I'd want to play you clips and,

you know, really give you a proper understanding of some of this great comedy which has been produced in my home country.

So what I've decided to do is devote some individual episodes to

specific shows or specific comedians. And that's what I'm going to do in this episode.
