Summary

This is the first in a series of episodes about British comedy. This one is all about Ali G. First you'll find out everything you need to know about him, then we will listen to a clip from one of his comedy shows and I will explain everything that you hear so that you can understand it to the same level as a native speaker. You'll learn plenty of slang vocab, some features of a London dialect and more vocabulary relating to the theme of education. Please be aware that there is some explicit language and content in this episode, including adult themes such as sex and drugs. Click this link for vocabulary definitions, links and to watch the video of Ali G from this episode of the podcast. http://teacherluke.wordpress.com/2013/12/12/156-british-comedy-ali-g  Thanks for listening ;)

0:56.0

British stuff like TV shows or comedy or stand-up comedians. Some of the most common requests that I get are from people who want me

1:42.1

you know, really give you a proper understanding of some of this great comedy which has been produced in my home country.

1:51.0

So what I've decided to do is devote some individual episodes to

1:56.0

specific shows or specific comedians. And that's what I'm going to do in this episode.
