Ronnie began playing drums as a young child. As a teenager, much of his time was spent

skateboarding and listening to bands like Dead Kennedies, Sam Hane, and The Cure. Eventually,

Ronnie enrolled at UNLV to study classical percussion, and in 2002

he joined the Killers. Ronnie's playing, which combines arena rock bombast with an experimental

sensibility and an emotional vulnerability, has proven fundamental to the massive success of the band. Aside

from his work with the Killers, Ronnie also co-founded the band Big Talk. I spoke to

him in Los Angeles at the Staples Center before the killers played the second of two

sold-out shows. His faithful dog Archie stood guard and occasionally nod on a new chew toy.
