First I'd like to say thank you to all you ladies who have thanked me for this podcast.

The reason I'm doing this every week is just trying to be a source of encouragement

any way I can. And so I'm just truly grateful whenever you're encouraged. So thank the Lord.

One of the things I learned early on in my Christian life is that long-term faithfulness

as a Christian woman is not a series of amazing victories and flashy testimonies.

It's simply doing your work before the Lord every day for a long time.

And if you look at your teenage son, for example, and think about how many meals you've

made for him over the years, that caused him to grow so tall, you're just going to laugh.

I mean, you simply put the food on the table and he grew and grew.

And that's like the Christian life. It's not a big growth spurt and then a long stall out

followed by another big growth spurt. It's more like a long and consistent walk.

Sometimes it's amazing like a fine steak dinner. Other times it's like the PBJ

that your mom packed in your school lunch. Thankfully, we're not the ones in charge

of this long consistent walk. God has ordained our path for us.

Our duty is to keep walking while keeping our eyes on him.

And this is serious business. It's not to be taken lightly.

Those who take it lightly often end up out of the way and serious sin.

Jeremiah 1023, O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself.

It is not in man who walks to direct his own steps.

And first King's 858, that he, meaning God, that he may incline our hearts to himself

to walk in all his ways. So we have to realize it's not in ourselves.
