My name is Sir Roland Peter Lot, and you're listening to Saturdays with Sir Rowland on Catholic

Sprouts, where every Saturday we discuss the art of dragon slain.

Today, my young squires, we're going to start

a seven-part series on the dragon-slain maxims that I learned as a child. Each book of my new

seven book series on facing fighting and defeating the seven deadly dragons has a lesson on one of

the dragon-slain maxims. We've briefly discussed these maxims in previous episodes,

but now we're going to take a deeper dive into each one.

A maxim is a short pithy statement that tells a profound truth,

and in my case they always rhyme, because you know, I like rhyming.

Today we're going to discuss the first and most important dragon slain maxim there is,

and it's a theme in the first book of

our series, The Red Dragon of Pride. Now, mind you, each of the Dragon Slaying Maxims are important

for all the dragons, not just one. But in this series, I will discuss why I chose each maxim for
