America has grown and basically these institutions are the same size as they were in 1979

for the most part and right so you have more students

graduating from high school more students going to college and these colleges essentially have an expanded.

I'm not talking about by the way that they go from you know a couple thousand to hundreds of

thousands. We're talking about if they expand at their class even by a little and almost every

admissions dean that I spend time with in recording this book said we could enroll academically

the same highly qualified class eight times over. They have enough highly qualified out and so

you can actually increase the size of these classes by a little without diminishing the brand.

Everyone has been loving our coverage of the war in Afghanistan as we are seeing that entire

conflict wind down or at least wind down for now but as you all know especially longtime listeners

the realignment covers basically every single topic under the sun and one of those topics that

really felt resonant for the two of us this week is higher education as most people know you will

either a college junior or college senior who's coming back to school after a nice long summer and

is preparing your college applications or you're actually going back to college yourself or you're

actually a parent who has kids who are going to school and you're probably asking yourself one big

question why is it that covid out of all the different institutions and places in our country.

Why was it not able to transform college why is it that colleges which is zoom school yet the

prices were the same if not higher why is the structure the same why does it feel like no matter what

you do in our society you have to go to school so many things with a perfect guest to discuss this
