How is sunny California?

0:02.0

It's great. I mean, it was snowing in Montreal this week before I left.

0:06.0

Which is just climate chaos. And then I got here and it was a heat wave. So it's great.

0:10.0

So anyway, you are out there. I don't know what else you're doing. But I know yesterday you were at the grand opening of the new...

0:18.0

Or I guess it's not really the grand opening. I guess that's tomorrow.

0:21.0

Yeah.

0:22.0

The sort of preview opening of the new flagship Apple store in San Francisco right off right at the top of the hill at Union Square.

0:31.0

Yeah. It was... They did a sort of a preview event. It's opening officially on Saturday. It's when the general public can go and we'll see how normal people react to the store, especially when they're at capacity.

0:40.0

But they had a small event yesterday with Angel Aaron's, which was very nice.

0:43.0

So tell me about it.

0:45.0

Well, the thing that... The thing that was a markle to me up front is they brought us in and they said Angela was going to speak.

And there was all this internet stuff previously about, you know, why is Apple hiding Angel Aaron's, Angel Aaron's, why is an Apple showcase in here? Why isn't she on the stage?

0:58.0

Is she even around anymore? And you knew that that was bullshit because you see her on campus. She's a presence at Apple. She's everywhere. She does phenomenal work.

1:07.0

But she came out and it was very similar to how I remember Johnny I've coming out for the unibody MacBook event many years ago where she said, you know, flatly that it's not her favorite thing to do.

1:17.0

And she asked for like a bottle of water and she got talking and it's just like... She's so passionate that she wanted to do this. But clearly, you know, being on an Apple keynote stage is not top of her personalistic things.

1:27.0

Oh, interesting. I wouldn't have... You know, maybe that's the simple explanation for why we haven't seen her on stage often that she doesn't want to be.

1:35.0

Just like Johnny, I mean, like not everyone wants to do that stuff.

1:39.0

Yeah, I think people, you know, for all of the... And some of it, you know, certainly warranted all of the debate over, you know, the diversity of the people who are on stage at Apple events.

1:54.0

It's easy to overlook the fact that a lot of people really not just don't like it, but really have like...

2:00.0

It's just so stressful to go and speak in front of the audience that it's undesirable. They just don't want to do it.

2:09.0

Yeah, or they work. I mean, like Craig Federica, he was not great the first year he did it, but he's got better and better every year at it.

2:15.0

And some of that is just they're going to have to get, you know, give people that time and those opportunities and maybe smaller events like this is a good way to do it.
