It is around the holiday season as I'm recording this and I was out with my friend over the weekend.

We were just having a conversation about traditions,

going home for the holidays, if we like to go home for the holidays

and why we don't or why we do.

But yeah, so let me just give you guys some background. So I'm 30 years old I'm turning 31 soon and my family I wouldn't say that my family was really a super close family growing up

It was just me and my mom, my brother, and then I had family over in Jamaica. And so when it came to the holidays, we definitely did holidays, like

Thanksgiving and Christmas, but because of like maybe things that have been

on healed, let's just say that things that have been unheeled in the family.

Going home for the holidays is not like an exciting thing.

For me, it's not an exciting thought.

I'm not like, oh my my god I'm just so excited to spend

time with the family like it's not like that for me and and that's it has been

that way since I've been like 22, 23.

Now I have gone home a couple of times and people always talk about when you go home

how that can be triggering, you know, with your past and how you grew up and bring you certain memories etc.

And so for me I just noticed that I don't get that excitement but what I want to do moving forward when I decide to have children is to make that excitement.
