Hey, brads. Hello. Um, well, I don't think either of us really even know how to start this because it's been a, it has been an unexpected past week. That's for sure.

0:19.0

Yes, indeed. And I think, you know, Becca and I had recorded today's episode and Thursday's episode actually numerous weeks ago, like at the top of May, I think it is because we've been playing to pre-record some episodes because obviously Becca is getting ready to have little one any day.

0:43.0

So we recorded this episode. Basically, we're basically unprepared for everything that was going to go down completely unprepared. Yeah. And, and yeah, obviously due to pre-recording and scheduling and everything, these are the episodes that are going to be coming out today and then tomorrow, both birth, focus episodes.

1:04.0

And here's the thing at the end of the day, this episode were, it's lighthearted. We're laughing. We're having a good time and having this conversation. Again, this was this was a recorded numerous weeks ago.

1:16.0

Yeah, definitely felt the need to come on here and talk for a minute with all you guys.

1:20.0

Yeah, I think we both felt like it was really important to address like, okay, one, we are not ignoring everything that has gone on in the wake of the death of George Floyd, the protests that have been happening.

1:34.0

I mean, there's so much going on and we just didn't, we wanted you to know that we're not ignoring that. And it's not something that we're going to be silent on.

1:44.0

We look at us have obviously been talking on our social media platforms, but we wanted you to know that first and foremost, like we give a fuck about what's going on.

1:56.0

And then also, we will be having, see, here's the thing, to be just completely transparent, we have these pre-recording episodes.

2:06.0

We have things scheduled over the next two or three weeks, including me having a baby. But we really want to take the time to craft a episode that is an episode that's thoughtful and that is helpful and something that can contribute and continue to contribute to this fight against racial injustice that we all so desperately need to be a part of right now, but especially us white folks.

2:35.0

And that is something that we will be investing time into in the coming weeks. It won't be released immediately. But what was important, I think to both of us is to remember and to also remind our listeners that all this that's been going on is not special to this week or like this time period because racism, systemic racism, violence against black people.

3:03.0

And brown people has been going on for years and will continue to go on. And basically this is nothing new. This is just something that got caught on camera.

3:13.0

And so because of that, we want to make this a conversation that is not only relevant to this week, but something that we're going to continue to talk about in the weeks and months and years to come and we hope that you do too.

3:28.0

And that episode, we will be donating all funds to a variety of organizations. We have posted on our Instagram that go to help fight for black and brown people and their rights.

3:47.0

And yeah, what is anything else you want to say, Jess? Yeah, I mean, I just, you know, obviously, like you were saying back at this is something that is so important that we want to be talking about, like in the moment right now.

4:07.0

And both we have it actually done much posting to be honest on the chatty broads Instagram thing, both of us have been focusing more on our own personal ones. So if you do, we've been trying to post sources.

4:18.0

And so if you do want to get updated sources, I know for myself, I'm going to continue to try. I'm trying to get a lot of sources to help kids to teach kids about being anti racist.

4:28.0

So I want to continue to post those on my personal Instagram, but in Becca's obviously always great about posting on hers. But as far as this as an episode goes, like Becca said, this is something that we really want to take the time to craft well to get the right people on the episode to talk about it because obviously, Becca and I can go off about something, but we feel that we need to have the right guests.

4:54.0

So we have been trying to contact people that we feel like would be a good fit. Some of those people being black women. And right now, they have been so gracious as to be willing to come on the podcast, but they also want a couple of weeks to take a damn breath.

5:13.0

Yeah, that's yeah. And I think it's so important to give them that space. I mean, this is something that we've been seeing. I do want to talk about briefly because unfortunately during this time too, so many people have been relying and looking to specifically like black men and women to say something and to put in the emotional labor.

5:40.0

And I think that's why we're here to educate people. I mean, we saw I'm just going to bring it to bachelor nation real quick. We saw in the wake of this tasha getting on her story crying and being like people are asking why I haven't said anything and I guarantee that tasha's been getting way more DMs about why she hasn't been, hadn't been saying anything in the first couple of days.

6:01.0

So white people in bachelor nation who took a few days to respond. And so that's not I just want to I just want to say that like it is not.
