Cliviu AI is a facial recognition technology company. And new surface, I think last year,

this company has been surreptitiously scraping billions of images from the internet to feed

an app that it's created. And so basically what it does is it scrapes these images of people,

these people that haven't consented to the collection of their images. And the app basically

extracts what's called a face print from these images. And this face print is the equivalent

of a fingerprint. It's the sort of precise facial geometry that sort of maps onto your face.

And this app has been sold to numerous public agencies. I think the BuzzFeed article noted

that the app was accessed by employees at over 2000 agencies. Cliviu has since basically

promised that it will only sort of sell access to law enforcement agencies. It's obviously

incredibly sort of scary business model, I think, to anybody that has about privacy and
