Laura is a detransitioner advocate, writer, an artist who travels internationally

sharing her experience of trauma and transition to raise awareness

about psychological issues affecting Gen Z and the medical ethics involved in trans health.

I've been wanting to speak to Laura for a long time and you may be familiar with her.

She's a really dynamic, creative, intelligent, and she gave a great interview today.

So she also has an autism diagnosis,

which we talk about a little bit today.

And we talk about how those traits overlap

with what she calls the archetypalal F-T-M. It's a really interesting conversation

based on a piece that she wrote. And today she also explains the way in her life chronic abuse led to what she calls complex PTSD and

trauma and at 19 Laura was prescribed testosterone and she had a radical

double mastectomy to remove her healthy breast

tissue. At age 22 she was diagnosed with complex PTSD which included the trauma

from this medicalization.

She transitioned in 2019 and has since been an outspoken activist

known for her unique perspective, which you'll hear about today on things like gender, culture, and philosophy,

which she writes about on Twitter and her sub-stack funky.

So I talked to Laura today about her ideas, her philosophy, and particularly this kind of

architippal F-TM, which I think is a great description of this quirky sensitive creative kid and I also kind of asked her to elaborate on what she calls kind of trauma and wiring and complex PTSD these are ideas I've been diving into and I wanted her to talk a little bit more about that

from a less clinical lens just so that we could understand what she was describing.
