Probably one of the hardest things that I've ever done in my hunting through, you know, my whole life was putting that pack back on that second day.

Welcome back to the Hunt Backcountry Podcast. Or should I say, hopefully, welcome back, because this is part two.

So in case you missed it, go back one episode to catch part one. We're talking with Ryan and Kenton Claremont about some Alaskan adventures they had specifically with sheep hunting.

And in this second episode with them, we get more into the story here how they filled some tags, had some crazy encounters, and hear about an unbelievable packout that they had to endure.

I'll be it's here blue skies out. Let's just let's just sack out here and get up early and make the rest of the climb in the morning.

And Ryan and Terry luckily convinced me. No, I mean, let's throw up a tent. Like the weather can change pretty quickly. And I was convinced that we were wasting our time because it was nothing but stars.

I mean, it was nothing but blue skies. It was like, no way it's going to, but okay, let's throw up the tent and it'll give us a good chance to, you know, to boil the water and stuff.

And so we threw up a tent. And what was it? Maybe three hours later, I woke up and we were and it was pouring down rain and it was trying to blow us off the mountain.

Like it was just it was sideways rain. Remember that Ryan just so yeah.

Crazy. Of course, they kind of waking up and they're both laughing. And I'm like, what I think the world's collapse, you know, I mean, like, why is the tent like right in my face?

And and and I realized, oh, it's like the winds blowing, you know, 60 miles an hour and his sideways raining out there. And of course, Ryan and Terry go, yeah guys, let's just throw our seat bags on the ground and not worry about it.

So yeah, that, uh, lot of that, but let that be a lesson to anybody who's going up that way is that no matter what rain gear, like be prepared for snow, rain.

Um, all the elements, regardless of what the forecast is calling for and bring, bring more food than you think you could you're going to eat.
