I'm here today with Dr Bracey Hill. He's a senior lecture at Baylor in history and I first

came across him on the Meat Eater podcast with Steve Ronella. He was talking about

Christianity and hunting.

Is hunting a sin?

Is hunting compatible with conservationism?

And most interestingly, all the stories in the Bible in references to hunting and to meat eating so

Hey thanks Dr. Marsh appreciate it.

So I enjoyed your interview with Steve Vernella on the Mediator podcast and y'all were talking about

Nimrod and Cain and Abel, Jacob and Esau, God as a hunter, and on that format you all went through

a lot of topics,

but I felt there could be so much more done,

especially on these biblical passages.

And so I reached out to you and you agreed to this interview.

And I want to, if you're okay with it to go through these

passages especially in Genesis and talk about hunting from a Christian

point of view. Sure, sure. First of all how did you get into obviously your hunter, but how did you get into, you know, writing a book and getting into the research of it?

By the way, the name of his book is God, Nimrod in the world exploring

Christian perspectives on sport hunting. What's the origin of this book? I was

writing a dissertation and I was bored.

If you've ever written a dissertation that comes out moment when you just despise your subject matter.

Embi was a huge dissertation.
