When did you learn that certain bodies were more valuable than others? Do you remember the first

time you kind of got the picture that smaller bodies were better or healthier or prettier or

whatever? I know for so many of us, we get this really early on.

When I've asked this question on Instagram, I see so many people telling me that they started

their first diet when they were nine or ten. There seems to be some kind of like magical thing that happens. I don't even

want to call it magical. It's almost like demonistic thing that happens at that age where we're pervaded

with fat phobia, where we start to fear weight gain. And this means a lot to me because my daughter is 10.

And also because I think all bodies deserve respect and need to be allowed to exist yet we know that we all get that information that fighting

our body and fearing weight gain makes us responsible, makes us doing all we can.

And what a bunch of bullshit that is. We know through research that there's no evidence that

there's any diet that helps any of us, or rather, I should say, most of us. There's always that
