Well, the reason I'm here, really, and the reason I came here was because this is the perfect place to announce it.

What I'm doing is I'm going to retire from the road.

I'm retiring from touring.

We'll be announcing new shows that I'm going to be doing through the winter and the beginning of May,

and then I'm going to do some shows in Europe.

Then I'm going to come back and we're setting up a schedule where hopefully the way it works out

hasn't been finalized, but I've done it before two or three times.

Mondays at a theater in New York before the election, which is what I've done for the last

three elections in a Broadway house, which is great.

And then in between, I will visit some cities along the way that I want to get back to.

And then by next December, a year from this December, I'm off, I'm done with the tour.

And we'll, and move on.

This could all go horribly wrong at any minute.

As usual, before we begin the randcast, I just wanted to catch you up on where I'll

be appearing this week and next Thursday at Saginaw, Michigan, at the Temple Theater.

Then on to Kalamazoo, Michigan, at the Temple Theater. Then on to Kalamazoo, Michigan, at the state theater.

Finally, Traverse City, Michigan at the city opera house where I'll be doing

Paliachi and some Verdi work that I've been working on and maybe just a few operatic tunes

that I've kind of worked out on my own. And I'll be accompanied

by a ukulele, which is an intriguing idea that I've had for opera for many years. And I would

tell a story now about that, but I'm going to save that for when there's just three or four people

...
