Hey everybody, we got a great one today, you know, for a change. And this time, this time I mean it. I really do, because my guest is Michael Steele, former Republican lieutenant governor of Maryland and former chair of the Republican National Committee.

But if you know Michael from MSNBC, you'll know he is one of those Republicans,

the fairly small but not insignificant minority of Republicans who are just as scared to death of Trump

as we Democrats and independents.

The independence who understand who this guy is.

Michael and I discuss what's happened to his party,

and I repeat, we are both very, very scared that our nightmare might actually come true.

But if you listen to Trump's victory speech on Tuesday night,

one of the craziest victory speeches of all time,

spending 90% of his time complaining about his opponent,

Nikki Haley, who he had beaten.

So let's play that.

You got that, Peter? And today, I have to tell you, who he had beaten. So let's play that. You got that, Peter?

And today, I have to tell you, it was very interesting

because I said, wow, what a great victory.

But then somebody ran up to the stage,

all dressed up nicely when it was at seven.

But now I just walked up, and it's at 14.

But she ran up when it was seven, and, you know,

we have to do what's good for our party. And she was up and I said, wow, she's doing,

like a speech like she won. She didn't win. She lost. Now, she had congratulated Trump and said he earned his victory, but then painted a favorable view of how she did herself.

But that's what you do.
