does the little doggy paddle like she's gonna swim, but it's in very slow motion that she's like yes, I'm gonna do this because you want me to do it. But I'm gonna do it the way that I would like to do it. Needless to say she needs a

shopper on in the pool and she will be staying away from the deep end. Hey, if you're new here, which I never do this anymore, but hey, maybe you're new, maybe you just happened upon a cult and you're like, what am I getting myself into? Well, Cult Leader is a podcast about cult and moida. What else? It pretty much anything that you feel like would make a good lifetime movie suspense, a thriller. We like to see it. We usually like a story with some resolution.

Last week on Cult Leader, we talked about Doomsday failures and I had so much fun putting that episode together. Those stories, I can't tell which one I love the most. Yes, I can. If I had to pick, it would be the prophet hand of leads because that story truly had everything. It had a witch. It had moida. It had a prophetic egg. Something I'll never forget. And I'm glad you guys are on board for doing some episodes with like multiple stories. I got a few messages and you were like, yeah, it's way easier to concentrate when it's multiple.

So, if you guys have any ideas, what you would want to hear a few stories on in an episode, like how we've done the Hollywood set, how we did last week's with the Doomsday Duds. If you have ideas that you feel like maybe it's not a full cult leader, but it'd be cool to hear a few stories about it. Just let me know in the comments because I will read them.

Last week on obituary, we talked about funeral strippers and some truly horrifying executions. I was astonished when Madison talked about the one called the Boats. Disgusting. We'll never get that imagery out of my head. Truly fucked.

Now let's get into business. Okay, so I first actually heard about this week's case earlier this year.

Uh, remember back in March, I covered the murder of Cliff Lambert. He was like, this Palm Springs socialite who was killed and this group of guys tried to like sell his house and sell up all his stuff. It's a really crazy story.

The episode was called Palm Springs Palm Things. Well, anyway, I bought this book when I was in Palm Springs. And it's honestly kind of thrown together. No shade. It's called Palm Springs to crime by Eric Nieks and listen.

I'm not trying to be shady, but like literally the first sentence is factually wrong in the book years wise. This book is where I first read about Al Atomson, the guy we're talking about today.

And I remembered it because there's this crazy tie in. Well, first of all, it's a crazy story. But there's also a tie into a very infamous cult, which will get to. But fast forward a little bit. I kind of put that story on the back burner, but it's been coming up a few times in my life. And I'm like, okay, I need to I need to cover this.

I'm going to be in Palm Springs when this episode goes out anyways. It'll be fun for me for you for everyone. So it's been kind of like a reoccurring story though. I've been watching a ton of stuff on shutter lately unrelated. We talked about it on obituary.

I don't know if my code for a shutter still works, but you can try. I think it was promo code cult leader. I'm assuming for like 30 days free. But I was scrolling on shutter. And I noticed that they had a documentary on this guy.

So I decided to watch it. And well, here we are. The documentary is called Blood and Flash, the real life and ghastly death of Al Adamson. And it spelled real like R-E-E-L because film real, he was a director. It's a really good watch because it goes real in depth on his career. And all of the people that knew him.

Friends, family members, it's really good. And it's just like today's story. I almost wish I was telling it closer to Halloween because it has such that vibe.
