Summary

James and Al are joined by Bulwark writer, author, and anti-Trump conservative Tim Miller to delve into the departure of the Republican party from the Reagan/Bush legacy in an appeal to the grievances of its base. They also look at the fire of political passion, the addiction of the campaign trail, and how it can drive people to go along to get along. When your candidate goes off course, what does it take to break free?

one of those parades when seven people were slaughtered by a 21-year-old with an assault

rifle during their celebration. That's last in two months after an 18-year-old killed

1:19.6

19 little children and two teachers in Udallby, Texas with an assault rifle and a 18-year-old

1:29.0

in Buffalo killed 10 shoppers in a supermarket with an assault rifle. With over 300 shootings

1:51.5

Canada. So does UK. So does Germany. But they don't have an epidemic of mass murders with

1:57.7

assault weapons the way we do. Congress approved a very modest gun control measure, James,

2:04.4

which we talked about last week. I give them credit for that. I don't do a whole lot,

2:08.3

but it's better than nothing may save a few lives. They ought to do more on assault weapons
