I think there's a lot of people out there mistreating offensive coordinator data in fantasy

football.

It's getting worse each and every year.

It's not that I think that looking at offensive coordinator trends is a bad thing to do.

It can absolutely help you understand how an offense might work.

But blindly following what a coordinator did at a previous job without digging in deeper

and finding the root cause for the decision making is foolish.

It doesn't make any sense.

One of my favorite examples of this is the Kyle Shanahan feeds his ex-receiver narrative.

The idea is that, historically, Shanahan's ex-receivers have been fed.

They've seen a lot of volume.

And they have for the most part.

He became offensive coordinator in Houston in 2008 and during that season, Andre Johnson

saw 171 targets.

And then Johnson saw another 171 the following year under Kyle Shanahan.

Then in 2010, Santana Moss had 145 targets.

2013 saw Pierre Garçon with 181.
