0:38.6	And the reason I've been thinking about this
0:40.8	is because something happened recently in the points travel
0:43.8	world that was not a good thing and that highlights one of the downsides of
0:48.8	points in general as a form of currency and what happened is that earlier this month
0:54.6	United Airlines without any advance notice to his frequent flyer program
0:58.6	members increased its award prices pretty much across the board for economy and business class flights on United
1:05.4	as well as partner operated flights on international flights.
1:08.8	And what this means is that it now costs more points for basically any international award flight booked
1:15.1	through United and not just a little bit more. Most award prices increased by
1:20.5	about 33% with this current devaluation, but some increased in price by more than 55%.
1:27.0	So an economy flight from the US to Europe that used to cost 30,000 United miles, now costs 40,000 United miles.
1:35.0	And a business class flight from the US to Europe that used to cost 60,000 miles
