Kanika Jenkins was a 19-year-old woman living in Chicago, Illinois in 2017.

She had recently gotten a new job at a nursing home and was excited about her upward trajectory in life.

Tragically, on September 10th, Kinnika was discovered deceased in a walk-in freezer at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois,

the same hotel where she had attended a party the previous day.

The autopsy and investigation provided little explanation for how she had ended up in this situation,

and the police closed the case only one month later, citing her death an accident.

While this is definitely possible, the many inconsistencies in the investigative documents

and extremely questionable circumstances bring up skepticism that the case is so cut and dry.

And we wanted to take a closer look at what really happened to Kanika that night last fall.
