My guest today is Dan Sturgis. Dan is a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, where he received the Spencer Tracy Scholarship and the Charles Jellinger Award for acting.

That's the institution's highest honor. As an actor, Dan has been seen in tons of commercials,

national, regional, cable. If you can drink it, eat it, or drive it, Dan tried to get you to buy it.

His work in theater and independent films has taken him all over the city and around the world

with the obligatory Law and order episodes thrown in for kicks.

A childhood interest in ghosts and in civil war history led Dan researching haunted locations.

After being asked to join the local group in New York City, Dan jumped into investigating headfirst

and became an important member of the team. His research into investigative techniques and

equipment, his research into hauntings and the many theories behind them combined with a level-headed approach, has made Dan one of the more popular media consultants in the tri-state area.

After slowing down with the group, Dan formed the historic paranormal research group. A paranormal research group made up of some of the better researchers on the East Coast that specialize in

historically haunted locations. HPRG eventually morphed into Sturgis paranormal.

Through his hard work and persistence, Dan has been able to arrange investigations in some of New

York's most notoriously haunted locations, such as the Ed Sullivan Theater, Home of the Letterman

Show, the Belasco Theater, the restaurant

one if by land, two if by sea, a townhouse owned by a former four-time Academy Award

nominated actor, I wonder who that is, the Bartow Pell Mansion and the Merchant's House

Museum where he is in his 17th year of ongoing investigations. Sturge's Paranormal is one of the only groups in the country to have been given this kind of unprecedented access to an accredited museum. And I'm so excited to talk to Dan today, to share some of his stories, and especially talk about the Merchant House in that 17-year investigation. Dan, thank you so much for doing the show today.
