My name is Julie Bogart and I'm your host.

Poetry Tea Time is a practice that originated in my own family.

I have five kids I homeschooled for that originated in my own family.

I have five kids I homeschooled for 17 years.

We used to sip tea, read poems, and eat treats,

at least once a week,

and to be honest sometimes more. I hope you'll enjoy

today's broadcast and take advantage of our website where we give you all kinds of

ideas for how to enrich your poetry tea times.

So Amy, it is so good to meet you.

Thank you for joining us on this Poetry Tea Time broadcast. I'm really thrilled

to see your poetry books. I went to the library and I kept very excited about your work.

So why don't we start with you telling me a little bit about you,

like your family, how you got into writing, and what you about about being a poet.

Those would be a great place to begin.

Absolutely. I live in Holland, New York, which is near Buffalo, with my husband and our three teenagers. We live on an old farm.

We're not farming it, but we have a couple dogs, a bunch of pets, and we live out here in the middle of nowhere and we are well we have the internet and I'm

active on social media platforms we are a TV-free family so we are always looking for other things, other ways to be alive and find interest in the world.

And so poetry is something I've always enjoyed and really I'd say I started writing lots and lots and lots of poetry about 16 years ago but ever since I was a child I liked writing poetry.
