the 15th of December. We're following the attack in Sydney, the Prime Minister promises

to take every possible step to ensure the safety of Jewish people in the UK.

It has impacted not just in Australia but across the globe and it has impacted on Jewish communities here in the United Kingdom that I know feel even more insecure today than they did before.

And in the Lords, there's an impassioned plea for ministers to take action.

I'm tired of listening to people saying will stand shoulder to shoulder with the community.

My Lords, it means nothing when there are dead Jews on the ground, whether in Manchester or in Sydney.

But first, Sakea Stama has condemned what he described as the appalling anti-Semitic terror attack at Bondi Beach in Australia,

in which 15 people died. The shootings targeted Jewish people

attending a Hanukkah event. The victims included a 10-year-old girl and a British-born rabbi.

The gunmen were father and son, Sajid and Navid Akram, who had reportedly pledged allegiance

to the Islamic State Group.

The older man died at the scene.

One bystander has been praised for his bravery after he ran at one of the gunmen and seized his weapon.

The Prime Minister made his comments when he appeared
