Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories podcast. I'm your host,

Dr. John Delin. It is October 31st, 2021. We're talking Halloween day here in the United

States and elsewhere. And we are super duper excited for today's episode. For those of

you who don't know, there has been a real British invasion on YouTube over the past year

in the X Mormon world as a bunch of amazing thoughtful, intelligent, insightful and most

importantly, funny British progressive Mormons and X Mormons have started doing some really

amazing things again on social media, but specifically on YouTube. And they have recently

dubbed themselves the Brit Vendures and coincidentally, in addition just recently and maybe coincidentally

maybe not. It was announced and I got wind of this just a couple weeks ago that three

count them three Mormon apostles elder Ballard, Jeffery Arhalland and Quentin Cook were all

going to be appearing at a area conference, you know, over the UK and Ireland this very

weekend. So yesterday, October 30th and today, October 31st, there was an area conference

for the UK and Ireland where three apostles spoke and this started to conjure for many

of us the idea of a rescue kind of a UK rescue. So we all know the years ago when Hans

Matt's an area authority from Sweden started to lose his faith and started to pull together

a community of other Swedish Mormons that were also losing their faith that the Mormon

Church sent Marlon Jensen Church historian and Richard Turley to Sweden to do what has

now famously been dubbed the Swedish Rescue. You can go to several past episodes of Mormon

stories podcast, listen to the audio recording of the actual Swedish Rescue and you can hear

several episodes where I interview Hans and Brigitte Mattsin and other Swedish ex-mormons

who described the Swedish Rescue. Anyway, that's the past, but when we heard about three Mormon
