| 0:00.0 | Yo, today's QOD is, if you're not doing anything with your life, it doesn't matter how long it is. |
| 0:07.0 | Here we go. |
| 0:34.0 | Welcome back to the Quotin of the Day Show. I'm your host, Sean Crox and Sean Croxin.com. |
| 0:39.0 | We got John Maxwell back on the show. This might be my favorite clip of the whole entire week because he's talking about why you need to develop a personal growth plan. |
| 0:50.0 | If you want to help people get better, then you have to get better. |
| 0:55.0 | If you want to help people grow, then you have to grow. You have to dedicate yourself to your personal growth because you cannot give what you don't have. |
| 1:08.0 | You've got to keep getting better. And I love the two questions. Really listening in here. Listen to and write down the two Benjamin Franklin questions. These are a big deal. |
| 1:20.0 | John Maxwell is coming up. |
| 1:27.0 | I love this next statement. If you're not doing something with your life, it doesn't matter how long it is. |
| 1:45.0 | I've seen people who lived a very short time and I was very excited. They didn't live very long but they really did live. |
| 2:00.0 | I was back there every day. I got to be more to life than that. When I was a teenager, I was greatly inspired by Benjamin Franklin. |
| 2:17.0 | I had a person recently asked me, where did you get the roots of that? I got that in when I was a kid in high school. I read the life of Ben Franklin. |
| 2:31.0 | Every day of his adult life, Benjamin Franklin set aside time to examine two questions. The morning question was, what good shall I do today and the evening question was, what good have I done today? |
| 2:45.0 | In one road, I would rather have it said he lived usefully than he died rich. More than just words, it was the way Franklin lived his life. Even his position as a printer fit his philosophical bent, he did not hoard his ideas but he shared them and everyone benefited. |
| 3:03.0 | He had an abundance mentality. Instead of seeing the world in terms of how much money you could make, Franklin saw the world in terms of how many people he could help. |
| 3:13.0 | Benjamin Franklin, being useful, was his own reward. |
| 3:20.0 | You say, John, why do I want to do a personal growth plan? |
| 3:27.0 | Well, you want to do a personal growth plan because that's how you reach your potential. |
| 3:33.0 | But you want to reach your potential, not to reach your potential, so that now you have something you can give to others so they can reach your potential. |
| 3:43.0 | Your goal in life is you got to get good so you can help other people get good and if you don't get good, they don't get good and if you don't reach your potential, they don't reach your potential. |
| 3:52.0 | The whole reason for growth is I've got to get better so I can help more people get better because you cannot give what you do not have. That's a fact. |
| 4:06.0 | So every day you and I should ask ourselves, what do I have to give? |
