Hey everyone, it's Susan Coffin and you are listening to Attitude Magazine's ADHD

experts audio. Our speaker today is Dr. William Dodson and his topic is

managing ADHD medications.

His talk today is designed for ADHD clinicians and

it's been developed as a result of the relatively little training

that most clinicians receive on attention deficit disorder in general and specifically

on the effective management of ADHD medications and the treatment of ADHD.

Dr Dawson will be talking about such questions as which avi-hitch-D impairments respond to

medications and which do not, how to best determine the right dosage of medication, how to

adjust the dosage to maximize benefits and minimize side effects, the benefits of amphetamine formulations versus methylphenate

formulations and why extended release forms of stimulants work best for

patients and many more topics.

Many of you have perhaps heard Dr Dodson who is just an extraordinary font of

information for

attitude readers. He's been working with adults with ADHD for over 30 years. A former faculty member at

Georgetown University and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.

He's currently in private practice in Denver, Colorado, where he is a Life Fellow of the American

Psychiatric Association and he's a member, fortunately for us, of Attitudes Medical Advisory Board.
