Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories podcast. I'm your host,

John DeLin. It is September 24th, 2021. And as always, I am so super excited for today's

episode. Today we have prepared for you a special presentation called the Gay Mormon Reformation.

I think if I had thought about this beforehand, I would might have reformation in quotes

because I think I would call this the recycled gay Mormon Reformation, but not to poison

the world too much. Today we are super excited to have two guests with us who are here to

talk about from sort of the gay Mormon perspective, what they've experienced in terms of understanding

the history of the Mormon church and what they're seeing now in the church, particularly

with the most recent public spokespeople that seem to be publicly advocating or apologizing

for the church around LGBTQ issues. And so there's so much to talk about today, but to

go ahead and begin, I want to introduce our two guests. And the first guest is returning

to Mormon Stories podcast. He's sort of acting as co-host for today. He's also got his own

Mormon Stories podcast episode and he is the genius behind the up leveling of cinematography

for Mormon Stories podcast and our YouTube channel over the past couple years. The one,

a little bit to everybody? Yeah. So, oh my gosh, we're at the start. I think you have

to go watch my seven hour episode with John. Well, but I was raised in Mexico in the church,

very orthodox Mormon. I knew I was gay from a very young age, went on a mission, but before

a mission, I actually went through Evergreen and the conversion therapy of Evergreen, David

Matheson, a very high profile ex-conversion therapist. And I say ex because like in 2019,

he came out as gay and divorced his wife and stopped doing conversion therapy. But I
