Because we had to find a way as well to communicate with these parents. They were all illiterate.

They were pretty intimidated to go to a school.

They've never been in a school.

Then there was these foreigners that drive the schools or the project.

It took us a while that we found a language.

And it's not that you can like in the West. you can write a note and send, oh, you know,

give this to your father or your mother.

They couldn't read or write.

It, you know, it took us a while.

And we needed to make them part of it because they were our biggest obstacle in the beginning

to convince them that this was an investment for a better

future for your child, but also potentially for them. But as I said, their vision is so short,

the time is so short because I don't know if I live in three weeks or in three years. I have to

survive today. So that is a language that we found

over time. But these are all these hurdles that you take constantly. So Rupa was there full

time for 30 years and every day, every time there was a problem, there was a solution for it.
