What do you do with that kid who's like,

What's the point of learning history when it already happened? I don't need to know about what already happened. I'm focused on the future.

Kids present us with very reasonable reasons for not wanting to learn and the subject that they don't want to learn is the

one that you think they should, right? It's not that they don't like learning,
