Thank you guys so much for listening and for the tip on today's case by Mikaela,

a listener who grew up near the birthplace of today's cult.

But it wasn't necessarily a tip, but more of like a light bulb moment reminder.

Because I had already researched and visited the Colorado town

where this faction of the cult is located.

So then serendipitously when I'm there researching it,

I also happen to be staying at a hotel where a former cult member worked.

And I spoke to her for over an hour at the front desk when it was slow at night.

I didn't want to like interrupt her job.

I was trying to be polite, even though I was very interested, but I recorded the whole thing.

Now, I will not be airing her interview as she wanted to remain anonymous,

but allowed me to record and use her inside knowledge for this episode.

I did this back in March, but after receiving Mikaela's email,

I began digging further into this cult beyond just the Colorado branch.

And what I found was too riveting and disturbing to ignore.
