I'm your host Heather Ashley and today's case is at a Fresno, California.

Just to set the stage here on Friday, March 12, 2004, Usher's Yeah and Brittany Spears'

Toxic were both sitting at the top of the music charts. The world had just dodged a Friday

the 13th and the residents of Fresno, California woke up to a warm spring day that was set to

reach the mid 70s as perfectly nostalgic as that seems on the outside for one family and an entire

police department. It was about to be a day that marked history and one of the most horrific

murder scenes and subsequent investigations the city had ever seen.

Around 2pm that afternoon, police got a 911 call that came out as a child custody dispute.

Two women, Sofina and Ruby had gone to their uncle Marcus Wesson's house to get their children.

The home was a small concrete building on the corner of the street designed for commercial use

but being used as a home and it was a home for what looked like a big extended family.
