I'm Michael Swaim, your nominal host, and by far the least compelling voice you're about to hear.

But I do serve some functions up here at the top. First of all, I want to let you know about the format of the show. Every episode will include a brief introduction, a piece by a socially conscious artist focused on the justice movement, an interview with a very special guest, as well as voices and sounds from the front lines of activism,

usually centered around a topic. This week's topic is Black Exmus and Police brutality,

and the From the Field portion, was gathered during a recent action at the Los Angeles

Hall of Justice designed to remove LA County District Attorney Jackie Lacy from office.

So before we get started with the show proper, I wanted to talk a little bit about why small beans,

myself, Abe, and all the beans you've come to know and love, we're interested in getting

involved in this project and collaborating with white people for black lives and

Serge National and it basically goes back to the roots of our organization small beings

which is only just a year old as of this month. Hooray! And it exists solely because of an incredibly

organic movement of a community of fans towards content that they liked but something that really
