Hey good afternoon everyone I'm Susan Coffin. I'm here for Attitude Magazine's

weekly ADHD experts webinar series. Our topic today is Behavior Therapy and

an extremely important one and we are very pleased today

to have one of the nation's experts on behavior therapy Dr. William Pelham.

It's very well documented that behavior therapy helps children with ADHD.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends it as the first line of

treatment for children diagnosed before age six and through high school

guidelines call for behavior therapy to be used in

conjunction with medications. But parents frequently need to know more

should behavior therapy be tried before medication at the same time. How do you

know if it's working?

So we're so pleased today to have Dr. Wepellum to discuss these questions and many more.

He'll be talking about topics such as the advantages of starting behavior therapy soon, early, how behavior therapy paired with medication

can help severe symptoms of ADHD, and why behavior therapy alone may be sufficient for some

kids to function well in school and at home.
