| 0:38.0 | Yeah, my reports were on the single justice procedure, which is a criminal case process, |
| 0:45.9 | deals with hundreds of thousands of allegations each year. And there are deep flaws in the |
| 0:53.7 | system whereby people are harshly and unjustly convictors in a system |
| 0:58.7 | which is set up for cost-cutting and efficiency and not necessarily for fairness. |
| 1:04.7 | So my report's brought out some of those cases that pass through the system against people |
| 1:10.6 | with dementia, people who are grieving |
| 1:13.4 | deaths, who are facing criminal convictions for not paying bills in their time of need, and are |
| 1:21.1 | reporting brought to the fore some of those flaws, as well as some of the other problems of the |
| 1:24.9 | system about targets being set for dealing |
| 1:28.1 | with justice, which obviously leads to efficiency being put above fairness. |
| 1:34.6 | The details of the stories that you had found were shocking because there were people being |
| 1:38.6 | prosecuted over really minor things, people who had never done anything wrong before. |
