It's the middle of the summer and hopefully you are in full harvest mode.

But if you have discovered anything like I have, when you're harvesting the tasks in the garden don't stop.

This season, quite frankly, can get very overwhelming depending on the size and scale of your garden.

I have felt myself being overwhelmed quite often

these last few weeks. But there have been some strategies that I have used personally in my garden

that have kept me on task, so to speak. My goal in this podcast episode is not to add to your

to do list, but to rather prioritize what activities are

most important for you to focus on right now. I've identified seven to-do list items for your

middle of the summer garden that I believe you will find are very doable. Hi, I'm Jill, and in 2013 2013 I started my first garden, having no background,

knowledge, or experience whatsoever. Now I am embarking on my eighth season of growing my own

vegetables, fruits, and herbs, and I'm proof that you don't have to have decades of experience

to grow your own garden, big, small. I certainly don't know

at all, but I can share what I've learned and bring guests along who can offer much more

Before I get started on the seven items on your middle of the summer to-do list. I want to ask you a question.

Do you have a system for when you work in your garden?

I'll tell you I really didn't for actually up until this year.

I would sometimes do tasks in the morning, sometimes in the evening,

sometimes when I just felt like it, sometimes when I

would walk out in my garden and decide I needed to do something. And it was really more of a slapdash

approach to my garden tasks. It didn't really serve me all that well. And it seemed like my garden,

especially this time of year, ended up being very overgrown.
